Edelweiss Tokio Life’s Bima Rath spreads insurance awareness in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, March 19, 2024: Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance, appointed as Chandigarh’s lead insurer under regulator’s state insurance plan, has undertaken several initiatives to spread insurance awareness in the region during this financial year.

Abhishek Gupta, Chief Marketing Officer, Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance said “Chandigarh has a diverse set of communities – rural, entrepreneurs, and MSMEs. To effectively reach them, we have used both in-person, and digital initiatives. A key campaign we have been running is Bima Rath. We are looking at enhancing our efforts by collaborating with government agencies, local NGOs, and organizations in the future.”

Bima Rath, a mobile van, has been touring rural regions of Chandigarh to educate residents about the importance and need of insurance. The life insurer's volunteers engage in one-on-one education sessions, supported by informational leaflets in the local language, ensuring better understanding among the locals. Furthermore, the life insurer has established education and awareness booths throughout the region, enhancing its efforts to spread awareness & educate all about financial protection.

Gupta added, “We are committed to IRDAI’s vision of Insurance for all by 2047 and are proud to take on the responsibility of lead insurer in Chandigarh. As India continues to grow and works towards its aspiration of becoming the 3rd largest economy globally, social security including insurance will be a critical contributor for its future. Such collaborative efforts by the industry, regulator and state/district government officials are an important step towards that end.”

In the coming months, the company is preparing to roll out a series of engagement activities aimed at sensitizing citizens about insurance.
