Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance appoints Subhrajit Mukhopadhyay as Chief Actuary

Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance, the life insurance joint venture between the Edelweiss Group and Tokio Marine Holdings of Japan, has appointed Mr. Subhrajit Mukhopadhyay as the Chief Actuary. Mr. Mukhopadhyay will be responsible for all actuarial processes and controls at Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance, as listed out by Insurance Regulatory Authority of India (IRDA).
Announcing the appointment, Mr. Deepak Mittal, MD and CEO, Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance said, “Edelweiss Tokio Life has a committed customer-centric approach, which places the needs of the customers first and then evolves offerings that are best positioned to cater to those needs. Subhrajit has over 24 years of experience in life insurance and started his career with LIC across various functions before moving into the Actuarial function, for the last five years of his stint there. During this tenure, he was involved in product pricing, underwriting and experience analysis. Subhrajit moved on to Exide Life Insurance (formerly ING Life Insurance) where he was responsible for all actuarial verticals, including product development and management, financial risk and reporting, and statutory valuation and reporting. Subhrajit’s last assignment was with Avantha ERGO as Chief Actuary, where he was also a part of the Executive Management Group.
Subhrajit is also a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India.
