Do you know expressing positive emotions boost your happiness?

Feeling good and expressing your emotions is a virtuous circle. It is important to know how this cycle works.

You feel good when you express good emotions and you express good emotion when you are feeling good.

When you feel down and sad, express your positive emotions like an emotion of gratitude for whatever good you have in your life. This will change your mood from being sad to being grateful to the people, situations, and relationship in your life which make you feel happy.

Focusing on what you have and be thankful for that will take your mind from the negative to the positive zone. This has a powerful health impact too.

“When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.” Willie Nelson

Your emotions have a powerful impact on our health. Inability to express can have a negative impact and expressing it more often is good for your health.

Thank you for everything you have in your life. This feeling of gratitude has a powerful impact on your life

Here are a few things you should be grateful for in your life. Usually, we take things for granted as obvious but if you look lives of people and animals around you will think how blessed you are for whatever little you might have.

1. Your Parents

Parents are the foundation of human life. But for their support and guidance, you would not be enjoying the life as you enjoy it today. Their concern for your health, your education, and your wellbeing are the reasons you are on a solid foundation.

Not everyone is happy about their experience with their parents but yet their role in your life is significant. Thank them unconditionally.

“One of the greatest titles in the world is a parent, and one of the biggest blessings in the world is to have parents to call mom and dad.” Jim DeMint

Parents are the first on the list for whom you should express gratitude for.

2.  Your Friends

People with good friends are blessed.

“The greatest gift of life is friendship, and I have received it.” Hubert H. Humphrey

Good friends are the greatest gifts. Not everyone is blessed with this gift. Having good friends is a matter of gratefulness.

3. Your Good Health

If you look around and see how people are suffering from various diseases, you will realise how grateful you should be for the good health you are enjoying.

Your good health could be due to your efforts like regular exercise and a good diet but you should be thankful for the wisdom you have to remain fit. Many people lack this wisdom and thankfully you are not among them.

4. Your Education

You might think your education degrees are the result of your efforts. But the facilities you got to study, your teachers, your schools, and everyone who made it possible for you to achieve your educational success are the people who enable you what you are today.

You should always feel thankful to the entire ecosystem that made it possible for you to study what you wanted to study.

It is not only your efforts, but it is your efforts supported by the entire ecosystem. This ecosystem beginning from when you first entered the nursery school till you finished your education.

Be thankful to everyone who supported and helped on your educational journey.

5. Your Ability to Think

Ability to think rationally is an important ability. Not everyone enjoys this benefit. Your ability to think what is good for you and what is good for the others is a privilege.

“Readers are plentiful: thinkers are rare.” Anthony Burgess

Good thinking ability is a privilege. Be grateful about it.

6. Your Solo Time

This is nothing short of a blessing. People live busy lives and die. Your free time makes you think about your life.

Free time you get when you can think about yourself. It is for you to do whatever you want to do. This is a blessing.

7. Your Basic Facilities

Your basic home, your clothes, your basic needs all are available to you. How many people in the world enjoy these basic facilities? Not many.

You have to be thankful that you do not have to live on a footpath or wander like certain communities.

You have to be thankful that you have the opportunities to read, learn and acquire knowledge.

You can eat the food of your choice. You can go to restaurants and do not have to go to the bed without food. You are not among the percentage of people who go to the bed without food.

Be thankful for all that you have which make you do what you want to do. These are not obvious things available to the majority of the world population.

8. Your Human Life

You should be thankful for your human life. This you will appreciate when you see domestic animals and wildlife around you. Their lives should make you feel thankful for the life you have.

“In ordinary life, we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer

This is just an elementary list. As you start counting you will find plenty of things in your life to express your gratitude for. Be humble and be grateful. This is the surest way to remain healthy and happy.
