Insurance companies are covering the financial risk of the insured. Life insurance companies can’t influence your death. Health insurance companies can’t keep you fit. They manage the financial consequence of the event.
To that extent risk management is an individual responsibility. You can’t be reckless on the road or wherever there is a life risk just because you have a life insurance policy. Similarly, you can’t be reckless in your lifestyle just because you have a health insurance policy.
To keep fit & remain healthy, the right diet and adequate exercise are necessary.
Lack of Fitness is not about lack of knowledge about the fitness. Everyone has enough or rather more knowledge about the fitness than one can use. Yoga, exercise, Gym, diet, walking and jogging and even more everything you know. With social media, you have more information than you can digest and use.
The issue is lack of motivation and lack of priority. Motivation level is low because you have given priority to everything else in life than your own fitness.
Everyone has a fixed time in a day. Different people barter it for different things.
- Daily routine (Lunch, dinner, breakfast, bath, newspaper etc.)
- Gossiping/ TV/Social Media
- Family time
- Pursuing hobby
Any imbalance will impact the other aspects. Any tilt towards unimportant things will affect important things because hours are only 24.
You invest money in your rich retirement, but the irony is you don’t invest enough time in your healthy retirement.
Time for retirement is investing your present time for your health and fitness. Unless you invest enough time in your retirement, money invested for a happy retirement will be used for medicines and treatments.

If you invest adequate time for retirement now, money invested for the retirement will be used to pursue your dreams and aspirations.
You want to spend time with your pain/immobility/ hospitals or you want to do what you always wanted to do in life after the retirement.
You realize this very late in life.
The first insurance you need is your own fitness. No life insurance or health insurance company will help you with this policy. Their policies won’t keep you fit.
It is your own policy towards your health and fitness matters. You are your own actuary. You can take the help of fitness trainers and dietician but insurance cover will remain active with your own action, daily.

First and foremost happiness will come from your own fitness. Sadly for most people, their money earning activities, their lethargy, and their excuses are more important than their health and fitness.
